CrossFit Mommy's "WOD" Out
The CrossFit Mommy’s “WOD” Out is directed towards women who are interested in resistance training, particularly with functional lifts.
We know walking into a CrossFit gym can feel intimidating, especially for those who haven’t had a lot of weight lifting experience. We want to invite the Mom’s in Tuscaloosa to come and learn how to perform functional lifts correctly with a supportive community of women!
Every class will be led by a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Physiolete and a CrossFit Coach from Element Fitness. Each class will focus on proper lifting mechanics and each class will end with a fun CrossFit style workout that is fitness-level appropriate.

Summer Saturdays in June at Element
EVERY Saturday in June we will be teaching a Barbell 101 Lifting Class prior to the regular Saturday CrossFit class at Element Fitness. The Barbell 101 class is FREE to members at Element Fitness and members are encouraged to bring a buddy with them.
For the month of June, members can bring a friend for FREE to the Barbell 101 class and the CrossFit class. The Barbell 101 class will focus on a common functional lift performed in CrossFit and will be taught by a Doctor of Physical Therapy at Physiolete.
The CrossFit class following the Barbell 101 class will include that day’s lift to allow all participants to get extra reps!

CrossFit for Youth & Teen Athletes
The CrossFit for Youth & Teen Athletes class is directed towards middle school and high school aged students.
While CrossFit can be a good way to crosstrain and actively rest from a particular sport’s season, playing a sport is NOT a requirement to sign-up for this class. Every class will be led by a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Physiolete and a CrossFit Coach from Element Fitness.
Each class will focus on properly performing a functional lift with good mechanics and each class will end with a fun CrossFit style workout that is age and fitness-level appropriate.

Youth Athlete Sports Performance Assessments
This Summer Physiolete Therapy and Performance will be conducting Sports Performance Assessments for Middle School and High School Athletes.
We currently have Sport-Specific Assessments for Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, and Golf. We also offer individualized and custom assessments for athletes wanting an assessment in other sports.
We have brought in evidence-based testing from not only the physical therapy world, but also strength and conditioning. Each assessment is tailored to the individual sport and its physical demands. A Doctor of Physical Therapy will be leading each assessment and analyzing the results.
Each athlete will receive information following the assessment that tells them if they are cleared for sport, if they have any yellow flags that might need to be addressed while still participating, or if they have any red flags that might warrant a deeper look from a Sports Medicine Physician. This information can be shared with parents and coaches to provide insight for improving performance on the field as well as reducing injury.
Our biggest goal with Sports Performance Assessments is to identify any risk factors for injury and address them early. While injury is never completely avoidable, we believe it is possible to reduce the chance of injury when athletes and coaches know what risk factors are present. We want to keep your athletes in the game as long and as safely as possible!
Currently we offer a team rate and an individual rate for assessments dependent on the number of athletes.
