About Us

Nadia graduated from The University of South Alabama with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in May of 2016. She completed a sports residency at The University of Alabama's Recreation Center in 2017. She went on to pass her sports specialty exam in July of 2017 and is a Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS). Along with her SCS, Nadia has her CrossFit Level 1 Coaching Certificate and is also a certified Level 1 Titelist Performance Institute Golf Fitness instructor.

Prior to physical therapy school, Nadia competed in track and field at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). During Nadia's senior year at UAH, the Lady Chargers took home the Peach Belt Track and Field Conference Championship and she was selected as a nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award. She married her college sweetheart, Elliott Jones, in May of 2016. Elliott was a member of the 2011 NCAA Elite 8 Men's Basketball team at UAH and is a founder and Financial Advisor at Thornhill Capital Management. Nadia and Elliott welcomed their first child, Rory, in December 2020.

Nadia enjoys CrossFit, running, and participating in other recreational sports. While she is looking forward to her first Masters Track and Field season, chasing Rory around is her favorite “event” of all.

Lauren graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in May of 2014. She then went on to complete a sports residency program at UMMC where she worked closely with athletes from East Rankin Academy and Millsaps College. During her residency, Lauren also had the opportunity to intern with Ole Miss Athletics. Lauren passed her sports specialty exam in July 2016 and is a Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS). Along with her SCS, she is a Certified Dry Needling Provider and is trained in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy.

Prior to physical therapy school, Lauren attended Mississippi College. She played soccer her freshman year and was named American Southwest Conference Freshman Defender of the Year. Her senior year she was named into the Mississippi College Hall of Fame. Lauren is married to her husband Nathan and has two daughters, Peyton and Presley. Nathan is a physical therapist and practices as a Geriatric Certified Specialist at Northport Medical Center where he also serves as the manager of inpatient rehabilitation and acute care therapy services.

Lauren has a passion for reaching college students and currently serves on the students team at Church of the Highlands in Tuscaloosa. Lauren enjoys running, outdoor activities, and working out at Element Fitness.

Shelby graduated from The University of Alabama with her Bachelor of Science in Public Health in May of 2020. She finished her undergraduate career as a first generation, summa cum laude graduate. Shelby has helped manage a local business and worked in childcare for nearly 10 years. 

Shelby had knee surgery in January of 2021 and was referred to Physiolete for therapy. During her recovery, she grew close to the Physiolete family and was happy to join the team later that year. She loves the Tuscaloosa community and is so happy to be able to spend so much time with people from all over Tuscaloosa.

Shelby grew up in Tuscaloosa, but was born in Guatemala. She speaks conversational Spanish and visits family in Guatemala as frequently as possible.

She married her high school sweetheart, Cameron Mckinstry, in November of 2020. Cameron grew up in Tuscaloosa and works at Bama Exterminating as a termite inspector. Shelby and Cameron have two cat children, Mr. and Miss Kitty.

Shelby enjoys traveling but always looks forward to coming home and spending time with her little family. She is a hobby potter and paints in her free time, but loves to break a sweat at brawl and strength training classes at Barre Code.

Allie graduated from the University of Alabama Birmingham with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in December of 2020. Allie is a certified dry needling provider and is a Crossfit Level 1 Coach. She is currently working towards her Crossfit Level 2 certification. She has coached many athletes in both the Birmingham and Tuscaloosa area since 2017.

Prior to physical therapy school, Allie attended the University of Alabama where she received her bachelor of science degree in Food and Nutrition. She went on to be accepted into multiple graduate school programs for both Doctorate of Physical Therapy School and Physician's Assistant school in 2017. Allie chose a career in physical therapy rather than the physician's assistant route because she wanted to help improve the health and wellness of her clients while being present with them and developing personal relationships, as opposed to being in the operating room most of her week.

Allie met her husband in 2016 through a Church of the Highlands small group. Fun fact, Kyle actually worked for Lauren and Nadia for several years in corporate physical therapy before Physiolete PT was even a dream. Allie and Kyle were married in December 2020 and made Tuscaloosa home. Allie worked in the outpatient physical therapy setting for a year and a half before joining the Physiolete PT family. They welcomed their first baby boy in June of 2022.

Allie enjoys Crossfitting, coaching, participating in any recreational/competitive sports, being outside, and spending all the time with family. She may be one of the biggest Alabama fans you meet and will gladly talk about anything BAMA. Roll Tide!

Gracy grew up in Memphis, TN and went to Mississippi State University where she studied Kinesiology and Spanish. She studied abroad in Spain for a summer in order to grow in her knowledge of the Spanish language and cultivate a love for other cultures. While in college, she worked as a physical therapy technician in a local hospital.

Gracy received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in May 2016. A fun fact is that she was in the same graduating class as Lauren's husband, Nathan. After graduation, she worked in Memphis, TN for a few years before she moved to Raleigh, NC with her husband. While in Raleigh, she continued working in an outpatient orthopaedic setting where she also assisted with clinical education for physical therapy students. Gracy is dry needling certified and working towards a speciality manual therapy certification. She is trained in cupping, Mulligan, and other myofascial release techniques for promoting tissue healing post injury.

She met her husband, Andrew, at a coffee shop in Jackson, MS in the Summer of 2014. They welcomed their son, Luke, in August 2022 before moving to Tuscaloosa in October. In her free time she enjoys hiking, camping, reading, playing board games, and catching up with a friend over tea.

Claire graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May of 2023. She loves adventure and did all four of her clinical rotations in PT school in a different state. Currently, she is completing a Sports Residency at Physiolete. Prior to physical therapy school, Claire earned a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at Mississippi College where she was a member of the women’s soccer team her freshman year, the student director of intramurals, and a member of the sports media team.

Claire was born and raised in Tupelo, MS. When she’s not at work, an ideal Saturday would most likely include a slow morning with a book and a cup of coffee (and her dog, Sadie), an outdoor run, and trying something new with her friends.

Claire is passionate about physical therapy because of the unique and interactive role that therapists get to play in helping people reach their full potential. She can’t wait to get you back to doing what you love!

Courtney graduated from the University of St. Augustine in April 2023. She is a Tuscaloosa native and received her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sports Science at the University of Alabama.

Growing up, Courtney was a competitive horseback rider and took pride in buying her horses young and training and developing them herself.

While at the UA, Courtney competed on the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) Equestrian team and became the first rider in school history to qualify for the Cacchione Cup held at the National Finals. She went on to place top 10 in the nation within her division.

While Courtney isn’t working, she enjoys spending her time outside with her black lab, Lady. She also loves working out and being the best aunt to her nephew, Jack.

Prior to physical therapy school, Courtney worked under Lauren and Nadia as a physical therapy technician. Lauren and Nadia definitely played a major roll in her decision to pursue physical therapy and continue the mission to serve others on the physical therapist side of things.

So needless to say, working at Physiolete Therapy and Performance has been a full-circle moment for Courtney!
